The Senior Lead Engineer, Software develops, debugs, tests, deploys and supports code to be deployed in systems/products/equipment for various applications. They write, debug, maintain, and test software in various common languages and for software at various levels in the hierarchy (from Firmware to Application). Software creation follows an agreed to development process (such as Agile, Scrum, etc.) and complies with the product life cycle development (phase/gate deliverables).

The Senior Lead Engineer, Software works in cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test new features and enhancements for Sonic-based network devices.
• Contribute to the Sonic open-source community.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Sonic functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate Sonic with other systems.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites for Sonic features.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in networking technologies and Sonic development.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality.
• Document code and design specifications.
• Provide support for deployed Sonic-based solutions.

1. At least 5 years software development experience in switch/router/Pon products, proficient in C/C++/python programming. 2. Experience in Commercial/Open source NOS integration with Linux, Broadcom SDK 3. Switch SDK experience in one of Broadcom XGS, DNX, Cavium, Marvell TLx, Cisco switch chips 4. Switch SDK bring up capability, capable to debug link, port led, Vlan, mac, l2 table, pipeline issues. 5. L2/L3 protocol develop/troubleshooting capability 6. Communication with global customer, good English skills 7. Debug/Configuration ability in real data center network topology 8. Sonic platform development capability. 9. Sonic Net stack feature development capability. 10. Linux skill is required. 11. Linux kernel driver development skill is required.

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
