- Job Description Job Summary: The Director of Project Management will lead and oversee all aspects of project management within China, ensuring the successful execution of projects from inception to completion. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on management of design, procurement, construction, and franchise-related projects. The Director will play a crucial role in aligning project execution with corporate standards and strategic objectives, enhancing property development, and maximizing value for stakeholders. Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of projects, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and standards.
- Oversee pre-project reviews, design, procurement, and construction processes, collaborating with diverse stakeholders including joint venture partners, consultants, and government departments.
- Develop and enforce design strategies, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance with brand requirements and Property Improvement Plans (PIPs).
- Collaborate with the regional Design & Technical Services team to create regionally appropriate hotel designs.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure financial efficiency and compliance.
- Supervise quality and compliance during on-site construction, ensuring adherence to approved drawings and brand standards.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with designers, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Liaise with Business Development on pre-development activities and support strategic initiatives.
- Monitor and enforce quality standards, conducting inspections and validations of mock-up rooms and project sites.
- Oversee fire life and safety activities in collaboration with the Head of MEP Design Services.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project reports and documentation, ensuring timely updates on project progress and status.
- Research and engage with leading Interior and Architectural Design Firms, maintaining a database of specialists in hospitality projects.
- Pursue continuous professional development and stay informed of industry trends and innovations.
- This role demands a visionary leader who can integrate strategic planning with operational execution, ensuring that projects not only meet but exceed quality and performance standards. The Director will be pivotal in driving Ascotts growth and success within the China region through collaborative and innovative project management.
- Job Requirement
ReRequirements: At least 10 years of experience in the architectural or engineering design field with strong project management skills. Holds an Architectural or Engineering degree from an accredited institution. Experienced in managing internal multi-disciplinary teams in the development of hospitality projects. Capable of effectively managing third-party consultants. Independent thinker who is comfortable with proactive innovation, managing change, and leading department initiatives. Experienced in working with respect for local cultures and the ability to adapt solutions to changing needs and environments. Possesses a comprehensive understanding of hotel and resort operations, including rooms, food and beverage, spa, and meeting space flow. Has an eye for detail and good analytical skills, capable of making sound business decisions. Highly organized, charismatic, and a hands-on team player with exceptional communication and negotiation skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, CAD, InDesign, Photoshop, or similar design presentation software. Willingness and ability to travel as required.
